How to convert JPG to JPEG offline

Choose local JPG image files, choose "JPEG" as the target image format, then click the "CONVERT OFFLINE" button to start offline conversions in bulk. File size can be up to 2GB.

This offline converter will first try to use the Canvas API in your web browser to convert images. The supported image formats depend on your current web browser. For example, the latest Chrome browser supports AVIF images while some older versions do not. The offline converter will then try to use JavaScript to convert the images if your current web browser doesn't support the image format. Use our online converter instead if this offline converter doesn't work in your web browser.

Introduction JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital images, particularly for those images produced by digital photography. The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality. The only difference between the JPG and JPEG formats is the number of characters used. JPG only exists because in earlier versions of Windows they required a three letter extension for the file names. So .jpeg was shortened to .jpg. While Windows and or DOS had this limitation, UNIX did not and so UNIX and MAC users continued to use the .jpeg extension.
